L3415 BRAMPTON MOOT HALL
CUMBRIA, NORTH WEST
Height: 7.5cm Length: 9.0cm
Brampton’s unusual octagonal building in the town’s Market Place is now used
as the local Tourist Information Centre. Built in 1817 by the Earl of Carlisle,
the Moot Hall replaced an earlier mid-seventeenth-century town hall, in which
Oliver Cromwell kept prisoners.
